About Sage of Hours

A deck that focuses on casting multiple spells targeting creatures would benefit from including Sage of Hours, as it can potentially provide extra turns as a payoff for accumulating +1/+1 counters. However, there are other cards like Time Warp or Nexus of Fate that offer more reliable and immediate extra turn effects, making them better choices for competitive play. Sage of Hours could be a fun and flavorful addition to a casual deck, but may not be the most optimal choice for a highly competitive environment.

Heroic abilities will trigger only once per spell, even if that spell targets the creature with the heroic ability multiple times.

You must remove all +1/+1 counters from Sage of Hours to activate its ability, even if the number of counters isn’t a multiple of five. For example, if you remove twelve counters to activate the ability, you’ll take two extra turns. If you remove three counters, you won’t take any extra turns.
