About Spell Shrivel

Spell Shrivel, Instant, designed by Jack Wang first released in Oct, 2015 in the set Battle for Zendikar. It see play in 1 formats: Commander. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 0.56.

This card, Shrivel, would be beneficial in a control deck that aims to disrupt the opponent's spells and maintain board control. While it offers a solid option for countering spells and potentially exiling them, there are more versatile and efficient options available in the current Magic: the Gathering card pool, such as Counterspell or Mana Leak, which provide more flexibility and reliability in countering spells. Overall, Shrivel may have situational use but may not be a top choice for competitive play compared to other more powerful counterspells.

Cards with devoid use frames that are variations of the transparent frame traditionally used for Eldrazi. The top part of the card features some color over a background based on the texture of the hedrons that once imprisoned the Eldrazi. This coloration is intended to aid deckbuilding and game play.

08/25/15

If a card loses devoid, it will still be colorless. This is because effects that change an object’s color (like the one created by devoid) are considered before the object loses devoid.

08/25/15

Other cards and abilities can give a card with devoid color. If that happens, it’s just the new color, not that color and colorless.
