Stubborn Denial, Instant, designed by James Ryman first released in May, 2020 in the set Khans of Tarkir. It see play in 1 formats: Commander. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 69.51.
A deck that focuses on aggressive creatures with power 4 or greater, such as a Temur or Gruul midrange deck in Magic: the Gathering, would benefit from including Stubborn Denial. It provides a versatile and efficient way to counter noncreature spells, especially when the ferocious condition is met. While there may be other counter spells with different effects, Stubborn Denial's low mana cost and potential to counter spells for just {1} make it a strong contender for inclusion in decks that can reliably trigger ferocious. Overall, it's a solid choice for decks looking to maintain board presence while disrupting their opponent's game plan.

Some ferocious abilities that appear on instants and sorceries use the word “instead.” These spells have an upgraded effect if you control a creature with power 4 or greater as they resolve. For these, you only get the upgraded effect, not both effects.
