About Vanish into Memory

Vanish into Memory, Instant, designed by Rebekah Lynn first released in Jul, 2006 in the set Coldsnap and was printed exactly in 4 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 1.22.

This card, Vanish into Memory, would be a great addition to control decks in Magic: the Gathering, particularly those focusing on white and blue colors. It provides removal for a threat while also allowing card draw, which is crucial for control decks to maintain card advantage. While there may be other removal spells that are more efficient or versatile, the unique combination of exile, card draw, and temporary removal/reanimation makes Vanish into Memory a potentially strong choice in the right deck, especially against high-power but low-toughness creatures. Its inclusion would depend on the specific strategy and meta of the deck, but it could definitely see play in certain control builds looking for a versatile removal option.

Rules

03/14/17

If the creature exiled with Vanish into Memory isn’t a creature card (for example, a crewed Vehicle), that card will still be returned to the battlefield, but not as a creature. Since the card returned to the battlefield has no toughness, you discard no cards.

03/14/17

Vanish into Memory cares about the creature’s power just before it left the battlefield and its toughness just after it returns to the battlefield. For example, if you target a 2/2 creature with two +1/+1 counters on it, you’ll draw four cards, then when it returns to the battlefield without any counters on it, you’ll discard two cards.
