A red aggro deck focused on Vehicles would benefit from using Speedway Fanatic, as its ability to give haste to a crewed Vehicle can provide a burst of unexpected damage. However, in competitive play, there are better options like Veteran Motorist, which offers a similar effect with the added bonus of scrying 2. While Speedway Fanatic can be a fun inclusion in casual Vehicle-themed decks, it may not see play in more optimized competitive decks due to the availability of stronger alternatives.

Speedway Fanatic’s triggered ability triggers when it becomes tapped to activate a crew ability. Even if Speedway Fanatic leaves the battlefield before its triggered ability resolves, that Vehicle still gains haste until end of turn.
