Alcaudón arpía, Criatura - arpía, diseñada por Christopher Moeller lanzado por primera vez en May, 2020 en edición Born of the Gods. Actualmente se vende al precio más bajo de C$ 17.91.

Un mazo que se centra en sacrificar criaturas y perturbar el tablero del oponente se beneficiaría del uso de Shrike Harpy, ya que proporciona una fuerte amenaza voladora y el potencial de obligar al oponente a sacrificar una criatura. Si bien el Alcaudón Arpía tiene sus puntos fuertes, hay otras cartas como el Chupacabras voraz que ofrecen un efecto similar sin requerir tributo y tienen un impacto más inmediato, lo que las convierte en mejores opciones en la mayoría de los escenarios. Alcaudón Arpía podría tener juego en ciertos mazos especializados que dependen en gran medida del sacrificio de criaturas por valor.

For effects that check which player put counters on the entering creature, the player chosen to pay tribute puts those counters on it, not the creature’s controller.

Players can’t respond to the tribute decision before the creature enters the battlefield. That is, if the opponent doesn’t pay tribute, the triggered ability will trigger before any player has a chance to remove the creature.

The choice of whether to pay tribute is made as the creature with tribute is entering the battlefield. At that point, it’s too late to respond to the creature spell. For example, in a multiplayer game, opponents won’t know whether tribute will be paid or which opponent will be chosen to pay tribute or not when deciding whether to counter the creature spell.
