The second Playmat Kickstarter is here! The beloved partnership between Johannes Voss and Josh Krause returns with five more original Designs made by Voss for Magic: The Gathering. Johannes Voss has illustrated over 150 cards for the game since 2010, when he was first enrolled by the company.
In 2021, Johannes Voss and Josh Krause of Original Magic Art launched their first highly successful Playmat Kickstarter. The original project had a goal of just under $13k, and it quickly gathered traction, ending with a whopping $161,530 total. The project brought original Voss artworks, such as the iconic Aurora Borealis in Kaldheim Island, into well-crafted Playmats, with a unique signature stamp and minimal logos. The playmats were exclusive to the kickstarter, so they weren't available for purchase anywhere else.

Well, a second edition of the first Kickstarter is back, with five other illustrations available. The initial goal was $46,500, but, at the time of the writing of this article, it has been surpassed already, after just one day since launch, and it stands currently at $72,085.
The kickstarter will open up more playmats as goals are being met, so the first five illustrations available probably won't be the end of this project. The project also added options for "Standard or Premium Stitched Edge", a new feature since the first project in 2021.
The new designs include Voss' Plains and Island from Dominaria United. See below all designs available so far:

The 2021 designs from the first Kickstarter will also be available for this second project, as a way to give fans more opportunities to grab themselves the exclusive playmats.
