While it provides a temporary solution by exiling an attacking creature and replacing itself with a card draw, there are potentially better options like Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares that offer more permanent removal at a lower cost. However, Second Thoughts could still see play in specific metas where exile effects are crucial or as a budget alternative in decks that require this type of effect.
