Esta carta, Tierra hirviente, sería más beneficiosa en un mazo rojo agresivo que busca controlar el tablero infligiendo daño a las criaturas de los oponentes. Sin embargo, existen opciones potencialmente mejores como la Ira de los dioses o la Piroclasma para limpiar el tablero de manera más eficiente, y la habilidad de Despertar en Tierra hirviente puede que no siempre valga el costo adicional en un juego rápido. En general, aunque Tierra hirviente puede ser útil en ciertas situaciones, puede que no sea la mejor opción para jugar de manera competitiva.
