Flash of Insight zou nuttig zijn in een controle- of combo-deck dat zich richt op kaartselectie en recursie op het kerkhof. Hoewel het kaartvoordeel en flexibiliteit biedt met zijn flashback-mogelijkheid, kunnen andere kaarten zoals Dig Through Time of Fact of Fiction meer directe waarde bieden. Flash of Insight zou echter nog steeds spel kunnen zien in specifieke strategieën die afhankelijk zijn van het zoeken naar sleutelkaarten en het effectief benutten van het kerkhof.

To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost (such as a flashback cost) you’re paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The converted mana cost of the spell is determined only by its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast the spell was.
