Esta carta, Difamar, sería beneficiosa en un mazo que se centre en estrategias agresivas y en robar criaturas del oponente para enfrentarlas entre sí. Podría encajar bien en un mazo agresivo basado en rojo que busque interrumpir el estado del tablero del oponente y aplicar presión. Sin embargo, existen opciones potencialmente mejores como Acto de Traición o Amenazar, que ofrecen efectos similares a un costo menor, lo que hace que Difamar sea menos competitiva en términos de eficiencia. En general, aunque Difamar tiene sus usos específicos, es posible que no se vea mucho juego en mazos competitivos de Magic: the Gathering debido a su mayor costo de maná en comparación con otras cartas similares.
