Clever Lumimancer would be a great addition to a white-based aggro deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it can quickly grow in power with its Magecraft ability triggering off instant and sorcery spells. However, in a competitive setting, there are stronger options like Monastery Swiftspear or Soul-Scar Mage that offer more consistent and impactful abilities, making Clever Lumimancer less likely to see play in top-tier decks.

If an effect creates a copy of an instant or sorcery spell, this will also cause the magecraft ability to trigger.

Some effects instruct you to copy an instant or sorcery card in a zone other than the stack. These copies do not cause magecraft abilities to trigger. However, most effects that do this also allow you to cast the copy, and casting the copy will cause magecraft abilities to trigger.
