Cet allié de Root-Kin serait bénéfique dans un deck de créatures vertes qui se concentre sur la génération d'une large présence sur le plateau, car il peut être facilement lancé en utilisant Convoke et a une capacité utile pour se renforcer en tapant des créatures. Cependant, dans un environnement compétitif, il existe de meilleures options comme Steel Leaf Champion ou Questing Beast qui offrent un impact et une valeur plus immédiats, rendant Root-Kin Ally moins susceptible d'être joué dans les decks de premier plan.

If a creature you control has a mana ability with in the cost, activating that ability while casting a spell with convoke will result in the creature being tapped before you pay the spell’s costs. You won’t be able to tap it again for convoke. Similarly, if you sacrifice a creature to activate a mana ability while casting a spell with convoke, that creature won’t be on the battlefield when you pay the spell’s costs, so you won’t be able to tap it for convoke.
