Questa carta, Desertion, sarebbe un'aggiunta preziosa a un mazzo di controllo in Magic: the Gathering, particolarmente in un mazzo focalizzato sul rubare o controllare le creature e gli artefatti dell'avversario. Mentre Desertion offre un tocco unico permettendoti di prendere il controllo dell'incantesimo annullato, ci sono probabilmente controincantesimi più efficienti come Cryptic Command o Force of Will che vedono più gioco grazie alla loro versatilità e costo di mana più basso. The card is put onto the battlefield, but any effects that check if the original card was “cast from your hand” will not trigger or otherwise consider the card to have been cast from your hand. The card was put onto the battlefield by the effect of Desertion instead.
