Questa carta Mortarpod sarebbe utile in un mazzo che si concentra sul sacrificio di creature per valore o sull'attivazione di effetti legati alla morte. Può fornire una fonte costante di danno e rimozione e allo stesso tempo creare un token da equipaggiare. Tuttavia, potrebbero esserci opzioni migliori come Batterskull o Sword of Fire and Ice che offrono effetti più versatili e potenti, quindi Mortarpod potrebbe non essere molto utilizzato nei mazzi competitivi ma potrebbe comunque essere divertente nei mazzi casual o a tema.
