Blood Crypt is a versatile dual land that can benefit decks looking to play both black and red spells efficiently, such as Rakdos aggro or midrange decks. While the 2 life payment may seem steep, the flexibility it provides in mana fixing and color access can outweigh the cost, making it a solid inclusion in decks that require both black and red mana. Other dual lands like Bloodstained Mire may offer better mana fixing options, but Blood Crypt is still a strong choice for decks needing both black and red mana sources.

Unlike most dual lands, this land has two basic land types. It’s not basic, so cards such as District Guide can’t find it, but it does have the appropriate land types for effects such as that of Drowned Catacomb (from the Ixalan set).
