Questa carta, Splendore Opprimente, sarebbe utile in un mazzo di controllo che mira a indebolire le creature dell'avversario e limitarne le abilità, rendendo difficile per loro montare un'offensiva forte. Mentre può essere uno strumento potente in certi scontri, ci sono potenzialmente opzioni migliori disponibili come Umiltà, che ha un effetto simile ma è più versatile e incisivo. Se Splendore Opprimente dovrebbe essere giocato dipenderebbe dalla strategia specifica e dal meta del mazzo, così come dalla disponibilità di altre opzioni potenzialmente più forti.

If a creature enters the battlefield under enchanted player’s control, any “when [this creature] enters the battlefield” abilities of that creature won’t trigger. Any “as [this creature] enters the battlefield” or “[this creature] enters the battlefield with” abilities won’t be applied. This is a change from previous rulings.

Overwhelming Splendor overwrites all previous effects that set a creature’s base power and toughness to specific values. Any power- or toughness-setting effects that start to apply to a creature after Overwhelming Splendor becomes attached to its controller will overwrite this effect. For example, the enchanted player’s Riddleform will become a 3/3 creature if player casts a noncreature spell.
