Astuto Magomago sarebbe utile in un mazzo di controllo che si concentra sul tempo e sulla disruption, in quanto offre un'opzione di rimozione versatile con il potenziale di far rimbalzare una minaccia chiave nella mano del suo proprietario. Anche se potrebbero esserci opzioni più efficienti disponibili, come Into the Roil o Vapor Snag, Astuto Magomago potrebbe comunque essere giocato in certi metagame o strategie che apprezzano la sua flessibilità e sinergia con gli effetti di rimbalzo.

An ability that triggers when a player casts a kicked spell resolves before the spell that caused it to trigger, but after targets have been chosen for that spell. It resolves even if that spell is countered.

The converted mana cost of the spell is determined only by its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast the spell was.
