Questa carta sarebbe un ottimo aggiunta a un mazzo basato sugli artefatti in Magic: the Gathering, in quanto fornisce un modo rapido ed efficiente per trasformare gli artefatti in creature potenti. Anche se Skilled Animator è una scelta solida per questa strategia, ci sono potenzialmente carte migliori come Karn, Scion of Urza o Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge che offrono maggiore versatilità e impatto. Tuttavia, Skilled Animator potrebbe comunque essere giocato nei mazzi che cercano un'opzione più economica o che desiderano concentrarsi specificamente sulla sinergia tra creature artefatto.
