Vastberaden zou vooral nuttig zijn in een controle- of combo-deck dat afhankelijk is van het oplossen van belangrijke spreuken zonder de dreiging van tegenspreuken, waardoor je je strategie effectiever kunt uitvoeren. Hoewel er andere kaarten zijn die vergelijkbare effecten bieden, zoals Veil of Summer, die ook je spreuken beschermt en kaarten trekt tegen blauwe en zwarte spreuken, maken de onmiddellijke snelheid van Bepaald en het vermogen om een kaart te trekken het een solide keuze. Gezien het nut ervan in specifieke matchups, zou het kunnen worden gespeeld in kaartspellen die prioriteit geven aan spreukresolutie en kaartvoordeel, vooral in formaten waar counterspells de overhand hebben.

A split card's characteristics are a combination of its two halves while it is not on the stack. For example, Assault // Battery has a mana value of 5 while it is in your library. If an effect allows you to search your library for a card with mana value 4 or less, you can't find Assault // Battery.

Each split card is a single card. For example, if you discard a split card, you've discarded one card, not two. If an effect counts the number of sorcery cards in your graveyard, Assault // Battery counts once, not twice.

If an effect allows you to cast a spell with certain characteristics, consider only the characteristics of the half you're casting. The creature is sacrificed when Bound resolves. It’s not an additional cost. It’s not optional. If you can’t sacrifice a creature or a colorless creature is sacrificed, no cards are returned.
