Attercop past het beste in een groen Limited-, Landfall- of Casual Commander-deck dat op betrouwbare wijze meerdere landen per beurt kan spelen, vooral één die gebruik maakt van fetch-landen of extra-land-effecten; zijn bereik en deathtouch maken hem tot een uitstekend verdedigend wezen, terwijl hij door de landing veilig kan aanvallen als er land binnendringt. Het is echter onwaarschijnlijk dat er competitief Constructed-spel zal plaatsvinden, omdat de tijdelijke +1/+1-boost bescheiden is en geen blijvende waarde genereert. In sterkere landfall-decks is 'Lotus Cobra' beter voor explosieve mana, 'Tireless Tracker' is beter voor kaartvoordeel, en 'Scute Swarm' is een sterkere uitbetaling voor herhaalde landdrops, hoewel geen enkele precies dezelfde verdedigende rol vervult. Over het geheel genomen is Attercop een solide Limited-kaart en redelijk in budget- of Commander-decks met Spider-thema, maar deze zou over het algemeen moeten worden vervangen in geoptimaliseerde decks.

A landfall ability triggers whenever a land you control enters for any reason. It triggers whenever you play a land, as well as whenever a spell or ability puts a land onto the battlefield under your control.

Whenever a land you control enters, each landfall ability of permanents you control will trigger. You can put them on the stack in any order. The last ability you put on the stack will be the first one to resolve (as a result, you can have those abilities resolve in the order of your choosing).
