Cleansing, Sorcery, designed by Pete Venters first released in Aug, 1994 in the set The Dark. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of € 7.54.
This card, Cleansing, would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on resource denial and slowing down the opponent's mana development. However, there are better alternatives like Armageddon or Cataclysm that provide more impactful land destruction effects without the option for opponents to pay life to save their lands. Cleansing could see play in specific metagames where life payment is more detrimental than losing lands, but overall, it may not be the optimal choice in most competitive decks.
