This card would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on resource denial and controlling the opponent's board state, such as a mono-black control deck. However, there are better options available, such as Desecration Demon or Abyssal Persecutor, which offer more impactful abilities for their cost and do not come with the drawback of sacrificing lands. Overall, while Demonic Hordes can be situationally useful, it may not be the most optimal choice for competitive play due to its high cost and downside.
