Dense Canopy zou een deck ten goede komen dat zich richt op wezens op de grond of op reikwijdte, zoals Green Stompy- of midrange-decks, door een manier te bieden om vijandige vliegende bedreigingen te neutraliseren. Hoewel het situationeel nut heeft, hebben kaarten zoals Gravity Sphere een bredere impact bij het uitschakelen van vliegende wezens, waardoor ze mogelijk betere opties zijn in bepaalde metagames. Dense Canopy zou spel kunnen zien als een sideboard-technologie in bepaalde matchups, maar het is misschien geen hoofdbestanddeel vanwege het beperkte effect.
