Foresight is vooral nuttig bij controle- of combo-decks die afhankelijk zijn van specifieke sleutelkaarten om hun strategie uit te voeren, omdat het spelers in staat stelt selectief kaarten uit hun bibliotheek te verbannen en tegelijkertijd een vertraagde trekking te bieden, waardoor het kaartvoordeel wordt vergroot. Er zijn echter aantoonbaar betere opties, zoals Ponder of Preordain, die niet alleen kaartselectie mogelijk maken, maar ook onmiddellijke trekking, waardoor ze naadloos passen in kaartspellen die prioriteit geven aan consistentie. Hoewel Foresight het spel kan zien in niche-builds of als een uniek effect vanwege het unieke effect, is het misschien niet de optimale keuze vergeleken met de efficiëntere kaartselectie en trekkingsspreuken die beschikbaar zijn in het blauw.
