De Forgotten Cave-kaart zou nuttig zijn in een rood kaartspel dat zich richt op mana-ramp en kaarttrekking. Hoewel het een consistente bron van rode mana biedt en de mogelijkheid om te fietsen voor kaartvoordeel, zijn er potentieel betere opties zoals fetch lands of dual lands die meer flexibiliteit en consistentie bieden bij het vaststellen van mana. Forgotten Cave zou echter nog steeds spel kunnen zien in budget- of themadecks waar het fietsvermogen en de manaproductie waardevol zijn.
