Gebied voor harde hoeden, Artefact – apparaat, designed by Steve Prescott first released in Dec, 2017 in the set Unstable. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of € 0.84.

Een deck dat zich richt op de synergie van Contraption, zoals een Unstable-deck met zilveren rand, zou baat hebben bij het opnemen van Hard Hat Area, omdat het een effectieve manier biedt om snel meerdere Contraptions samen te stellen. Er kunnen echter betere kaarten zijn om te overwegen, zoals Whir of Invention in een blauw, op artefacten gericht kaartspel, waarmee je een specifiek artefact kunt leren, wat voor meer consistentie en controle zorgt. Hoewel Hard Hat Area leuk kan zijn bij gewoon spelen, kan het situationele nut en de willekeur ervan de concurrentiekracht in meer strategische formaten beperken.

Contraptions are artifacts. Anything that interacts with artifacts will interact with Contraptions.

If you crank multiple Contraptions, their abilities can be put onto the stack in any order. The ability put onto the stack will resolve first.

If you or a permanent you control are instructed to assemble a Contraption, reveal the top card of your Contraption deck. Put it onto the battlefield on one of the three sprockets.

If you or a permanent you control assembles a Contraption and your Contraption deck is empty, nothing happens. You don’t lose the game.
