Over Join the Dead

Join the Dead, Instant, ontworpen door Olivier Bernard voor het eerst uitgebracht in november 2023 in de set Lost Caverns of Ixalan. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of € 0,01.

A deck focused on graveyard recursion or self-mill strategies, such as a black-based control or reanimator deck, would benefit from using Join the Dead due to its potential to become a powerful removal spell with the Descend 4 ability. While it can be a strong addition to such decks, there are more efficient removal options available in Magic: The Gathering, such as Fatal Push or Doom Blade, which may see more play due to their lower mana cost or versatility in different matchups. Ultimately, the decision to include Join the Dead in a deck would depend on the specific strategy and meta-game considerations.

Regels

10/11/2023

Cards with the ability word "descend N" have abilities that care if you have at least N permanent cards in your graveyard.

10/11/2023

Some descend triggered abilities include intervening "if" clauses (i.e. "if you have [four or eight] permanent cards in your graveyard" in the middle of the ability). Each of these abilities checks your graveyard at the moment it would trigger to see if it does. If you don't have the required number of permanent cards in your graveyard at that time, the ability doesn't trigger at all. If it does trigger, it will check again as it tries to resolve. If you don't have the required number of permanent cards in your graveyard at that time, the ability won't resolve and none of its effects will happen.
