Over Mage-Ring Bully
Mage-Ring Bully, Creature — human warrior, ontworpen door Karl Kopinski voor het eerst uitgebracht in juli 2015 in de set Magic Origins. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of € 0,31.
A deck that focuses on casting a high number of noncreature spells would benefit from including Mage-Ring Bully, as its Prowess ability allows it to grow in power with each noncreature spell cast. However, there are potentially better options available, such as Monastery Swiftspear or Soul-Scar Mage, which offer similar abilities but with additional benefits like haste or the ability to place -1/-1 counters on creatures. Whether Mage-Ring Bully should see play would depend on the specific strategy and synergies of the deck it's being considered for.
Regels
22/06/2015
Any spell you cast that doesn't have the type creature will cause prowess to trigger. If a spell has multiple types, and one of those types is creature (such as an artifact creature), casting it won't cause prowess to trigger. Playing a land also won't cause prowess to trigger.
22/06/2015
If, during its controller’s declare attackers step, Mage-Ring Bully is tapped or is affected by a spell or ability that says it can’t attack, then Mage-Ring Bully doesn’t attack. If there’s a cost associated with having it attack, its controller isn’t forced to pay that cost. If they don’t, Mage-Ring Bully doesn’t have to attack.
22/06/2015
Once it triggers, prowess isn't connected to the spell that caused it to trigger. If that spell is countered, prowess will still resolve.
22/06/2015
Prowess goes on the stack on top of the spell that caused it to trigger. It will resolve before that spell.
