Merfolk Traders would be beneficial in a Merfolk tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides card draw and selection while also contributing to the tribal synergy. However, there are better options like Silvergill Adept which not only draws a card when it enters the battlefield but also has the added bonus of reducing its cost when revealing a Merfolk card. While Merfolk Traders could see play in more casual or budget decks, competitive decks would likely opt for more efficient card draw options.
