De Mind Stone-kaart zou nuttig zijn in decks die mana-versnelling en kaarttrekking vereisen, zoals controle- of midrange-decks. Hoewel het kleurloze mana oplevert en kan worden opgeofferd om een kaart te trekken, zijn er potentieel betere opties zoals Arcane Signet of Solemn Simulacrum die meer directe waarde of helling bieden. Mind Stone zag echter nog steeds spel in bepaalde decks op zoek naar extra bruikbaarheid en flexibiliteit in hun manabasis.
