This card, Perish, would be incredibly useful in a black-based control deck looking to deal with green creature-heavy strategies. It can be especially effective in a meta where green creatures are prevalent, such as in a format like Commander. While Perish is a strong card for its specific purpose, there are other options like Toxic Deluge that offer more flexibility by also being able to deal with non-green creatures. Whether Perish sees play would depend on the specific meta and the prevalence of green creatures in it.
