Fantastische schildrug, Schepsel - schildpadillusie, ontworpen door Daniel Ljunggren voor het eerst uitgebracht in oktober 2024 in de set Foundations Jumpstart. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of € 0,13.

Phantasmal Shieldback kan nuttig zijn in een kaartspel dat zich richt op het trekken van kaarten en het gebruiken van illusies, omdat het kaartvoordeel oplevert bij zijn dood. De kwetsbaarheid ervan om opgeofferd te worden wanneer het doelwit is van een spreuk of vaardigheid, kan echter de effectiviteit ervan beperken. Andere kaarten zoals Snapcaster Mage of Delver of Secrets kunnen betere opties zijn voor decks die op zoek zijn naar kaartvoordeel en aanwezigheid op het bord, waardoor het minder waarschijnlijk is dat Phantasmal Shieldback wordt gespeeld in competitieve Magic: the Gathering-decks.
