This card, Rousing Read, would be beneficial in a blue-based control deck that focuses on card advantage and evasion. While it provides card draw and a power boost with flying, there are potentially better options such as Curious Obsession for consistent card draw and evasion. However, Rousing Read could still see play in decks looking for a versatile enchantment that provides both offensive and defensive capabilities.

If the creature Rousing Read would enchant is an illegal target by the time the Aura spell resolves, the entire spell doesn’t resolve. It won’t enter the battlefield, so its ability won’t trigger.
