Saving Grasp zou nuttig zijn in een tempo- of controledeck dat zich richt op het beschermen van belangrijke wezens of het verstoren van de strategieën van tegenstanders. Hoewel het flexibiliteit biedt met zijn Flashback-mogelijkheid en een manier kan bieden om een wezen te behoeden voor verwijdering, zijn er potentieel betere opties zoals Unsummon of Vapor Snag die vergelijkbare effecten bieden tegen lagere manakosten. Over het geheel genomen zou Saving Grasp in bepaalde nichestrategieën kunnen worden gebruikt, maar het is mogelijk geen hoofdbestanddeel van de meeste competitieve decks.
