Staande troepen kunnen een solide toevoeging zijn aan een White Weenie- of Aggro-deck in Magic: the Gathering, waarbij ze profiteren van de lage kosten en het Vigilance-vermogen om consistente druk uit te oefenen op de tegenstander. Er zijn echter waarschijnlijk betere opties beschikbaar, zoals Elite Vanguard of Soldier of the Pantheon, die agressievere statistieken of extra nut bieden. Uiteindelijk zien Standing Troops misschien niet veel spel in competitieve decks vanwege het relatief gemiddelde krachtniveau in vergelijking met andere opties.
