Over Tentative Connection
Tentative Connection, Sorcery, ontworpen door Kieran Yanner voor het eerst uitgebracht in april 2020 in de set Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of € 0,31.
This card, Tentative Connection, would benefit a deck that focuses on aggressive strategies and includes creatures with menace to reduce its casting cost. While it can provide a temporary advantage by gaining control of a creature and giving it haste, there are potentially better options like Act of Treason or Threaten that offer similar effects at a lower cost without the condition of controlling a creature with menace. Overall, Tentative Connection could see play in specific decks looking for temporary creature theft effects, but there are more efficient alternatives available.
Regels
17/04/2020
Once you announce that you're casting Tentative Connection, no player may take actions until the spell has been paid for. Notably, opponents can't try to change whether you control a creature with menace.
17/04/2020
Tentative Connection can target any creature, even one that you already control or that is already untapped.
17/04/2020
Tentative Connection is unaffected if you no longer control a creature with menace after you've cast it. You won't have to pay an additional {3}.
17/04/2020
To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you're paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions (such as that of Tentative Connection). The mana value of the spell remains unchanged, no matter what the total cost to cast it was.
