De Vision zou het beste passen in een spellslinger of niet-wezenszwaar midrange/control-deck - met name Jeskai, Azorius of zelfs op Izzet gebaseerde builds - waar je meerdere niet-wezensspreuken per beurt uitspreekt (verwijdering, cantrips, counterspells, planeswalkers, artefacten) om op betrouwbare wijze de flexibele modi te activeren; vliegen en waakzaamheid maken het tot een sterke stabilisator, terwijl een dubbele aanval games snel en onverwoestbaar sluit en het door gevechten of sweepers beschermt, en het trekken van kaarten ervoor zorgt dat het gas blijft stromen. Het is het sterkst in formaten met goedkope cantrips en interactie (zoals Commander of mogelijk Pioneer/Modern op een bepaald moment), maar met vier mana concurreert het met extreem efficiënte bedreigingen – zoals Sheoldred, de Apocalypse, Murktide Regent, The Wandering Emperor of Questing Beast – die vaak meer directe of gegarandeerde waarde genereren zonder dat er extra spreuken nodig zijn, wat betekent dat The Visi
