Een tempogeoriënteerd Izzet-deck (blauw/rood) zou baat hebben bij het gebruik van Unnerving Assault, omdat het het bord van de tegenstander kan verstoren en tegelijkertijd je eigen wezens een boost kan geven, waardoor agressief spel mogelijk wordt en de controle over het slagveld behouden blijft. Er zijn echter potentieel betere opties, zoals Electrolyze, dat naast schade ook kaarten trekt, of Izzet Charm, dat veelzijdige modale effecten biedt. Unnerving Assault zou in nichesituaties kunnen worden gespeeld waar de specifieke effecten waardevol zijn, maar over het algemeen is het misschien geen hoofdbestanddeel van competitieve decks vanwege de beperkte impact ervan in vergelijking met andere opties.
