Upheaval is een krachtige kaart die nuttig kan zijn in een controle- of tempospel dat tot doel heeft de bordstatus van de tegenstander te verstoren en tempovoordeel te behalen. Hoewel Upheaval een game-changing spel kan zijn, vereist het een aanzienlijke mana-investering en kan het traag zijn om op te zetten. Andere kaarten zoals Cyclonic Rift bieden vergelijkbare effecten tegen lagere kosten, waardoor ze in de meeste gevallen veelzijdiger en efficiënter zijn.
