This Valley Rannet card would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on mana ramp and color fixing, particularly in a red-green deck with a land cycling theme. However, there are more efficient cards available for mana fixing and ramp, such as Farseek or Rampant Growth, which could be better options depending on the deck's strategy and format. Valley Rannet may not see much play in competitive settings due to its higher mana cost and slower cycling ability compared to other options.

Unlike the normal cycling ability, landcycling doesn’t allow you to draw a card. Instead, it lets you search your library for a land card of the specified land type, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library.

You can choose to find any card with the appropriate land type, including nonbasic lands. You can also choose not to find a card, even if there is a land card with the appropriate type in your library.
