About Vortex Elementaal
Vortex Elementaal, Schepsel – elementair, designed by Jack Wang first released in Feb, 2014 in the set Born of the Gods. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of € 0.31.
Een controle- of tempodeck in Magic: the Gathering zou baat hebben bij het gebruik van Vortex Elemental, omdat het een verstorend element biedt aan de bordstatus van de tegenstander door wezens herhaaldelijk naar de top van hun bibliotheek terug te sturen. Er zijn echter betere kaarten met vergelijkbare effecten, zoals Aetherling, die meer veelzijdigheid en ontwijking biedt. Vortex Elemental zou spel kunnen zien in nichestrategieën die zich richten op bibliotheekmanipulatie of verstoring van wezens, maar het is misschien geen topkeuze in competitieve decks.

If no creature is blocking or being blocked by Vortex Elemental as its first ability resolves, it alone will be put on top of its owner’s library, and that library will be shuffled. You can activate the first ability outside of combat.

The creature blocks Vortex Elemental only if it’s able to do so as the declare blockers step begins. If, at that time, the creature is tapped, it’s affected by a spell or ability that says it can’t block, or Vortex Elemental isn’t attacking its controller or a planeswalker controlled by that player, then it doesn’t block. If there’s a cost associated with having the creature block, the player isn’t forced to pay that cost. If that cost isn’t paid, the creature won’t block.
