About Sculpting Steel

Sculpting Steel, Artifact, designed by Heather Hudson first released in Oct, 2003 in the set Mirrodin and was printed exactly in 13 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of € 0.11. It's a key card in 11 combos.

Sculpting Steel is a versatile card that can benefit decks focused on artifacts, especially those with powerful or game-changing artifacts in play. While it offers flexibility and can potentially copy any artifact on the battlefield, some may argue that cards like Phyrexian Metamorph or Clever Impersonator provide more value due to their ability to copy any permanent, not just artifacts. However, Sculpting Steel can still find a place in decks looking to maximize their artifact synergy and adaptability, making it a solid choice for players seeking to enhance their artifact-based strategies in Magic: the Gathering.

Rules

07/15/07

If the chosen artifact is copying something else (for example, if the chosen artifact is another Sculpting Steel), then your Sculpting Steel enters the battlefield as whatever the chosen artifact copied.

07/15/07

You can choose not to copy anything. In that case, Sculpting Steel stays on the battlefield as an artifact that doesn’t do much of anything.

12/01/04

Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied artifact will trigger when Sculpting Steel enters the battlefield. Any “as enters the battlefield” or “enters the battlefield with” abilities of the chosen artifact will also work. For example, if Sculpting Steel copies an artifact creature with sunburst, the copy will get +1/+1 counters based on the number of different colors of mana used to pay Sculpting Steel’s total cost. If Sculpting Steel copies a noncreature artifact with sunburst, the copy will get charge counters based on the number of different colors of mana used to pay Sculpting Steel’s total cost.
