The Field of Ruin card would benefit control decks that aim to disrupt their opponent's powerful non-basic lands. It is effective at disrupting powerful utility lands, especially when paired with other land destruction cards. However, in some cases, the card Ghost Quarter may be a better option as it can be activated at instant speed and does not require the opponent to have three or more lands in play.
