General Jarkeld could benefit a control or midrange deck that focuses on manipulating combat situations and gaining advantage through strategic blocking. However, there are better cards in Magic: the Gathering that offer more consistent and impactful effects for their mana cost, such as removal spells or creatures with stronger abilities. General Jarkeld's situational effect may not be reliable enough to warrant inclusion in competitive decks, but could be fun to experiment with in casual play.
