Necropolis Fiend, Creature — demon, designed by Svetlin Velinov first released in Jun, 2002 in the set Magic Online Promos and was printed exactly in 6 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 0.18.
A deck that focuses on graveyard recursion and control strategies would benefit from including Necropolis Fiend, as it can take advantage of the Delve mechanic to reduce its casting cost and its ability to exile cards from the graveyard to weaken opposing creatures. However, there are potentially better options available for similar effects, such as Gurmag Angler or Tasigur, the Golden Fang, which offer more efficient and versatile abilities. Necropolis Fiend may struggle to see play in competitive decks due to its high mana cost and limited impact compared to other options.

Because delve isn’t an alternative cost, it can be used in conjunction with alternative costs, such as flashback. It can also be used to pay for additional costs that include generic mana.

Delve doesn’t change a spell’s mana cost or converted mana cost. For example, Treasure Cruise’s converted mana cost is 8 even if you exiled three cards to cast it.

The rules for delve have changed slightly since it was last in an expansion. Previously, delve reduced the cost to cast a spell. Under the current rules, you exile cards from your graveyard at the same time you pay the spell’s cost. Exiling a card this way is simply another way to pay that cost.

You can’t exile cards to pay for the colored mana requirements of a spell with delve.
