About Call to Arms

Call to Arms, Enchantment, designed by Randy Gallegos first released in May, 2020 in the set Ice Age and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 4.09.

Call to Arms would be particularly beneficial in a white aggro or tribal deck that aims to capitalize on boosting the power of white creatures, especially when facing opponents who tend to play a single dominant color. This card excels in metas where opponents frequently use a specific color, allowing you to exploit their strategy for your advantage. However, its conditional nature makes it somewhat unreliable, as it can easily be rendered ineffective if the opponent's board state changes. Alternatives like Honor of the Pure, which provides a consistent +1/+1 boost to all white creatures without the need for color conditions, may be more reliable. Overall, while Call to Arms can be a fun and thematic card in the right context, it may not see widespread competitive play due to its fragility and reliance on opponent's board composition.

Rules

10/01/09

Call to Arms’s third ability is a “state trigger.” Once a state trigger triggers, it won’t trigger again as long as the ability is on the stack. If the ability is countered and the trigger condition is still true, it will immediately trigger again.

10/01/09

If Call to Arms changes controllers, it will continue to check the nontoken permanents controlled by the player chosen as it entered the battlefield, even if that player isn’t an opponent of its current controller.

10/04/04

You can’t choose “colorless” as a color.
