About Squidnapper Playtest
Squidnapper Playtest, Creature — squid pirate, designed by Jeff Carpenter first released in Nov, 2019 in the set Mystery Booster Playtest Cards 2019 and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
This card would be a great addition to a control deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides a powerful tempo swing by stealing an opponent's creature. However, the high mana cost and ransom requirement may make it less efficient than other control options like Control Magic or Treachery, which offer similar effects without the additional cost. While Squidnapper Playtest has potential, it may struggle to see play in competitive decks due to its limitations compared to existing cards.
Rules
11/12/19
If a card with a ransom ability loses that ability, it has no ransom cost. No player may pay its ransom cost.
11/12/19
If Squidnapper leaves the battlefield before its triggered ability resolves, you won’t gain control of the target creature at all.
