Vastwood Animist, Creature — elf shaman ally, designed by Raymond Swanland first released in Feb, 2010 in the set Worldwake. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 3.35.
This Vastwood Animist card would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on building a strong board presence of Ally creatures, as the more Allies you have, the stronger the Elemental creature this card can create. However, there are potentially better cards like Joraga Warcaller or Hada Freeblade that can provide more consistent and powerful effects in an Ally-themed deck. Whether Vastwood Animist should see play would depend on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck, as it can be a situational but potentially impactful card in the right context.

A land that becomes a creature may be affected by “summoning sickness.” You can’t attack with it or use any of its abilities (including its mana abilities) unless it began your most recent turn on the battlefield under your control. Note that summoning sickness cares about when that permanent came under your control, not when it became a creature.

The value of X is determined as Vastwood Animist’s activated ability resolves. The power and toughness of the Elemental won’t change if the number of Allies you control changes later in the turn.
