A deck that focuses on ramping up mana quickly, particularly in a green-white color combination, would benefit from using Saltcrusted Steppe. This card could be useful in a deck that aims to cast big spells or creatures ahead of schedule. However, there are better options available such as Temple Garden or Sunpetal Grove, which provide more consistent mana fixing without the need for storage counters. Saltcrusted Steppe may not see as much play due to its slower mana generation compared to other land options in the format.
